Bo - The Ten Plagues
Did God Have a Sense of Humor?
Think about the Passover Seder. In many homes, on the second Seder night the kids are throwing plastic frogs and marshmallows. There is something humorous about the plagues. They are absurd. Was God playing with the Egyptians with the plagues? By the time we get to the ninth plague, if there is humor it seems dark (pun intended). The greatest of the Egyptian gods is Ra, the sun god. The plague of darkness has no sun, no light. Ra is ineffective. God’s strength is shown.
Darkness changes our balance.
Darkness takes away your stability.
Nothing else changes but closing our eyes.
Stand with both legs together.Put the right foot in front of the left foot, heel to toe, and keep your hands on your hips.
This is a balance pose.
Focus on an unmovable point to keep your balance.
Now close your eyes.
Not so easy.
Do the same thing with the left foot in front of the right foot.
